We recently received an e-mail giving us an up-date on Harvey the little blind greyhound so just to make it easy here is the message as it was received

Go Harvey Go (In no way related to a certain big store)

The next instalment of Harvey’s progress

If you have been following the story so far you will be aware Harvey had his procedure and has had to endure his buster collar/lampshade for what seems like a lifetime. After reconstructing my house and terrorising the other dogs Harvey’s collar has now finally been removed.

Worth remembering he’s gone from no sight, to tunnel vision (with collar) and now his world has got so much bigger. He can now see the world that he could only sense before.

When he returned from the vets after his latest check-up, greeted by his housemates he stood in the garden looking all around him. After a short time he and Vinney got down to the business of running after one another. This is something that he wouldn’t be able to do before his surgery.
You can only imagine the life changing effects that he has encountered in his short life. It’s nothing short of amazing that our Harvey has a whole new outlook on life now.

It’s been a lot of hard work and dedication from all concerned, MAAS, Isabel the vet and his long term foster carers, a real team effort and again reinforces the lifelong commitment to care. He continues to need medication administered, and his therapy will continue for some time to come. We see this as a small price to pay for this remarkable special little dog.

Harvey will have his other eye operated on in the future. However he needs time to recover fully from this intense period of change.

And of course this has all been made possible by MAAS, Dr Isable Buelher (vet) and the generosity of you the public, who made many donations to Harvey’s just giving page. We are overwhelmed at the generosity of you animal loving public out there.

Thanks

Davey

A quick but heartfelt thanks from us all for your donations so far towards the new build, via JustGiving. We’ve raised well over £2,000 on there so far, and hope our supporters help us to hit the next landmark of £3,000. None of this includes, of course, the many and equally significant contributions by post, telephone, and so on. We’re just as grateful to all those donors.

You can see many of the donations and messages on our virtual ‘wall’ here (all thanks to the diligent work of dutiful secretary Diane). Since last time, we’re up to an amazing 269 bricks!

Don’t forget you can still donate by text, post, and online:

PHONE: Call us on <red>028 9446 3993</red> for information

ONLINE: Go to justgiving.com/MAASBuyaBrick and make your donation

TEXT: <red>WOOF12</red> to <red>70070</red> to donate via JustTextGiving.

Thanks so very much for your continued support.
