20th April: MEMBERS COFFEE MORNING
11.00am – 1.00pm. An open invitation to all members to
come along and share a cuppa with the staff, meet the
residents and get an update on the work of the Sanctuary.
6th May: BELFAST MARATHON
Val is organising a number of relay teams to compete in this
year’s marathon. If you would like to be part of a team please
forward your details to the Sanctuary.
25th May: 40th ANNIVERSARY OF
ANIMAL WELFARE AT HURTLETOOT
1.30 – 2.00pm at Sanctuary premises. A re-dedication of the
memorial in remembrance of Mr Nelson Montgomery who,
40 years ago, recognised the need for an animal welfare
establishment and made the generous donation of land in
support of this. Additionally the Sanctuary memorial garden
will be formally opened. Refreshments will be served.
1st June: COFFEE MORNING & SALE
10.00am – 12.30pm Harmony Hill Presbyterian Church,
Lisburn. The annual coffee morning and sale organised by the
Lisburn Support Group. Come along and enjoy a cuppa, scone
and tray bake and pick up a bargain at the same time! All
proceeds go direct to the Sanctuary.
29th June: REUNION WALK
Commencing around 3.00pm Antrim Castle Gardens &
Clotworthy House, Antrim. An opportunity for all former
Sanctuary residents, their owners and supporters to come
along, meet up again with staff and volunteers and have a
general catch up on each other’s progress. The event will allow
for a walk around the historical and recently restored gardens
and refreshments will be served.
17th August: OPEN DAY
From 11.00am at Sanctuary premises. The annual family fun
day includes children’s entertainment, refreshments and a wide
selection of stalls. As always, the day will end with the fun dog
show with a number of categories including fancy dress and the
presentation to the best dog in show.
18th August: MOTORCYCLE RIDE OUT
Departing at 1.00pm The bikers will complete the normal
circuit leaving Carrickfergus and finishing at the Sanctuary,
where refreshments will be served.
7th September: ABSEILING EVENT
(times to be confirmed) at the Europa Hotel, Belfast. For the
adventurous type among our supporters, complete an abseil
and raise funds for the Sanctuary (minimum sponsorship
£100 per person).
In addition collections take place at various locations
throughout the year organised by our various support groups.
