When Sandra Perry decided to run the marathon in order to raise money for a friend and costumer of Tom’s Bar & Grill the regulars rallied around. She was raising money to provide an electric wheelchair for Colin Graham who has Multiple Sclerosis and her outstanding achievement brought in ample funds; however, Colin was more than happy to accept a light-weight chair and so suggested benefitting a charity with the remainder. Sandra – a devoted animal lover – chose the Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary and we are honoured to accept this most charitable of donations.

With the country facing financial cutbacks the Sanctuary is reaching crisis point. As the general public are tightening their belts we are witnessing a lot of faithful family pets being given up as an expense too far for many owners. Veterinary treatment and pet food are not a priority on many household lists; thus leaving Sanctuaries like Mid-Antrim full beyond capacity.

This generous donation from the staff and regulars of Tom’s Bar & Grill stands as the archetype of charitable deeds and we delighted to accept this contribution on behalf of all the residents in our care.
