May Fair in Ballyclare! May 26, 2008
Posted by Jonathan Mitchell in : Events , add a commentOn Thursday the 22nd of May 2008 the Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary held a dog show in the Presbyterian Church car park in Ballyclare as part of the ‘May Fair.’
Fortunately the weather held up. This has been our fourth year at the fair, and the number of competitors has been increased each time.
The selection of dogs was wonderful to see, making the Judges’ final decisions very difficult indeed. Pictured below left are Joshua and Racheal with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Cliff. Also pictured is Megan, who is Miss Ballyclare, and was on hand all day to give out the awards. In this case the category was ‘Dog most like their owner.’
Pictured below is Grace Kennedy with her Poodle, Sweep, who received a prize in the ‘Best Dressed’ show. We held six categories in total: Dog With the Waggiest Tail, Best Behaved Pet, Most Unusual Pet (which was Jason Pattison’s Timber Wolf, Taz!), Best Dressed Pet, Most like Owner and finally, the Pet the Judges Would Most Like to Take Home. The latter went to Jack Irvine with his Springer/Jack Russell crossbreed puppy, Skippy (pictured below).
Everyone had a great time, and thankfully all the dogs were friendly to each other, and very well behaved. We at the Mid-Antrim Animal Sanctuary would like to extend our thanks to Michelle MaGuiggan who, as part of the Ballyclare May Fair committee, organised the day itself. We look forward to seeing you all again next year and well done to everyone who took part, ALL the pets are winners!
