Rideout update/pictures August 22, 2005
Posted by Jonny Mitchell in : Old News , add a comment{mosimage}Last Sunday saw the 5th annual MAAS motorbike rideout take place, and with growing support it has become an enormous success. The event is organised by John McCartney, the sanctuary’s deputy manager and keen biker (pictured with his wife, Karen, and celebrity guest, Alexandra Ford from televisions ‘Give My Head Peace’).
Around 250 bikes gathered at Carrickfergus harbour car park at midday and left like a swarm of wasps to take in some beautiful views with exceptional weather at 1pm.
An eager army of onlookers, BBQ chefs and refreshment distributors waited to greet the horde at the sanctuary premises, where music was supplied by William McPeake. Everyone received a burger while the lovely Alexandra Ford announced the ballot prize winners. All the prizes were excellent and generously donated by local businesses and motorbike shops.
The day itself was superb, with beautiful weather and a mammoth 1400 raised for the animal sanctuary. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone involved and who helped out (special thanks to Quay Vipers MCC) with a view to seeing you all next year!
You can see loads of pictures from the day here.
